Finished in code-FC7 Plum Crazy and capped with a white vinyl roof, the car incorporates a black interior fitted with high-back vinyl bucket seats and center console, wood-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel and a Rallye instrument cluster rebuilt by Instrument Specialties. Rounding out the R/T’s performance specifications are heavy-duty suspension, power steering and power front disc brakes. This example’s original matching-numbers 440 Six Pack remains as it was equipped at the Hamtramck assembly plant with the A33 Track Package, incorporating the New Process Hemi-rated A833 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, 8.75-inch Dana 60 third member with 3.54:1 Sure Grip differential, 7-blade Torque Drive cooling fan and 26-inch heavy-duty radiator and dual-point ignition. ![]() ![]() The 440/390 HP Six Pack engine was a formidable Mopar street powerplant, a flexible and high-torque engine with triple Holley 2-barrel carburetors on an Edelbrock intake manifold, a setup that gave the R/T Hemi-grade acceleration in the street/strip battles for which it was built. This Challenger R/T has it all for the demanding Mopar collector. It was also featured on the popular Velocity TV program “Graveyard Carz” which documents the crew at Welby's Car Care and their restorations of classic-era Chrysler muscle cars. The product of a frame-off restoration by Mark Worman at Welby's Car Care in Springfield, Oregon, this 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T retains its original drivetrain, most importantly its matching-numbers V-Code 440 Six Pack engine.
